Mohamed Fouda got his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University in 2018. His research focused on applications of nonlinear optics in fast-light gyroscopes and on the applications on light-matter interactions in Bose-Einstein Condensates. Before that, he had his MSc in Electrical Engineering with focus on hardware engineering.
Emanuel Peinke got his PhD in Photonics at CEA Grenoble, France, from University Grenoble Alpes, in 2016. His research focused on all-optical switching of micropillar cavities and the temporal dynamics of light-matter interactions. The past three years he worked at ALPAO, Montbonnot, France, in adaptive optics and developed, among others, an commercial adaptive optics solution for confocal microscopy.
Cecilia Burshtein received a PhD degree in Physics (Optical Sciences) from the Ensenada Center for Scientific Research and Higher Education. Her research was oriented towards laser processing of new engineered materials. Cecilia has experience in Pulsed Lasers, Optical and Biomedical laboratories. She is interested in working on projects related to biomedical applications, materials processing and optical devices. Cecilia enjoys practising yoga regularly, hiking and spend time with her dogs.
Volker J. Sorger is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the leader of the Orthogonal Physics Enabled Nanophotonics (OPEN) lab at the George Washington University. He received his PhD from the University of California Berkeley. Prof. Dr. Sorger is widely recognized for his research in opto-electronic devices, plasmonics and nanophotonics and photonic analog information processing and neuromorphic computing.
Professor Tarek El-Ghazawi is a worldwide recognized expert in High-Performance Computing. His research focuses on High-Performance Computing, Reconfigurable Computing, Parallel and Distributed Systems, Advanced Processors, Parallel Computer Architecture, Parallel Input/Output, Experimental Computer Performance Evaluations.
